![]() ![]() Of course, it's not gonna run on old consoles, but not because of the old consoles weren't powerful enough. I beg you please read a bit about the game industry before making assumptions Octopath LOOKS retro but try to run it on an atari or a ps2 and it won't even get to the loading screen. Also game consoles dont run games based on how heavy they are. Thanks for reply, so let me get this straight your telling me that a game 3gb-6bg cost's the same amount of money to produce as a 60gb game ? for example octopath traveller II vs Resident evil 4 remake = same production cost ?īoth games are the same price on steam 49.99, I will pay 49.99 for RE4 remake but not for octopath cash grab but best of luck to everyone who wishes to though I hope it's epic some 3D high poly assets are really heavy and 2D sprites take very little space. I think you're going to miss out on some pretty great games. Ultimately it's your choice if you want to use file size as to whether you think a game is "worth it" or expensive. Also, you don't take into account how much more it costs now to develop, publish, market and release a game than it did in the days of Final Fantasy VII (which was about 1.3 GB by the way.) This is evidenced by the rising costs of your 40-100GB games increasingly common for them to cost $69.99. Price being tied to file size makes ZERO sense.
